Inspired by iconic, 25-year-old pieces of the fashion house in London, the Vivienne Westwoodwedding ateliers unveiled six dresses.

The 2021 Bridal collection celebrates 25 years of couture at our London atelier, where couture looks in the collection are still handcrafted today.” Said Vivienne Westwood on Instagram.
This collection has six beautiful dresses:
The historical Marie Antoinette dress: features scalloped lace edges that frame the voluminous petticoat underskirt, while the delicate sculpted lace corset top and detachable hidden tulle panniers enhance the stately silhouette.
The Cora Cocotte: inspired by the seminal Cocotte gown and was originally developed for the 21st birthday of Vivienne’s granddaughter Cora Corré. The Vivienne Westwood Couture Peace Cocotte with Bird of Paradise train: reinterprets the seminal Vivienne Westwood Cocotte gown through a modern lens.

The elegant Silver Moon Dress, in a shimmering silver palm leaf jacquard, sculpts a feminine silhouette with side slit detail and a graceful train. The asymmetrical neckline of the corseted bodice adds a touch of Hollywood glamour, with an architectural unfurling flower-like neckline detail finished with crystal detailing.
The Hemingway Rose: Taking the modern bride from day to night, the mini Hemingway Rose Dress is a transformational two-piece bridal look.
The original Cocotte neckline is subverted, an architectural sweeping line lifts the top of the corset to hover just above the shoulders – exaggerating the cinched waist, from which lustrous silk satin dances and drapes from the hip, evocative of ancient Greek statues. The original Bird of Paradise dress was first seen in the Spring-Summer 2005 Gold Label show.

The Vivienne Westwood Couture Levant dress: a mini dress features layers of shimmering ivory and gold lurex chiffon, creating sumptuous volume and flowing drapes across the body. The asymmetrical fluid neckline is built on a corset foundation and is finished with a fabric belt, further accentuating the cinched waist.
“A retrospective of iconic catwalk silhouettes is curated into a collection which celebrates 25 years since the inception of couture at the London atelier. Composed of made-to-order gowns and expertly crafted couture looks, each piece is reminiscent of a significant moment from the Westwood archive and her development as a master couturier. The collection is evocative of the atelier’s signature avant-garde tailoring and combined historical and experimental pattern cutting.” Says Vivienne’s website.
