This season Ralph Lauren used the runway as an opportunity to honor classic American fashion with glamour, elegance and class.

For the Fall/Winter 2022 season, Ralph Lauren revamped this two-faced design approach with a collection that was as classic as it was cool. Although the show was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and featured a star-studded front row that included Lily Collins, Jessica Chastain, Janelle Monáe, AngusCloud, the atmosphere was intimate.
“I think the world is craving a little warmth,” Lauren said during a preview. “And for the cleanliness and elegance of the clothes, the black-and-white sensibility, MoMA was the perfect venue,” she added.

For the event’s décor, Ralph Lauren opted for his living room, bedroom and furniture designs, from coffee tables to books. The launch of the new collection was something of an extravaganza.
In his first live runway show in two and a half years, Ralph Lauren highlighted New York by producing a 61-look runway show that had all the class and charm of his hometown.
The opening looks consisted of a series of black and white suit ensembles. With clean lines and impeccable tailoring, the garments paid homage to the ever-present importance of corporate workwear and the city’s position as the financial capital of the world.
“My Fall/Winter 2022 collection is a celebration of the timeless black and white style of the sleek lines of tailored silhouettes for both men and women,” says Ralph Lauren. “As we come together again, I wanted to share it in an intimate setting within the iconic beauty of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.” He added.
In addition, Ralph Lauren celebrated the allure of personal style through this season’s Women’s Collection and Men’s Purple Label, where details became the truest form of self-expression. Menswear-inspired prints such as stripes, hounds tooth and plaid were paired with hyper-feminine tops.
The collection itself had a subtle gentleman’s look with a touch of elegance. The tuxedo-inspired looks were the highlights of the runway show, with nods to the equestrian theme. The spectacular black and red dress with a huge bow on the back was the finishing touch.
The women’s collection conveyed a refined luxury that takes the modern woman from day to night with ease. Elevated sportswear has a presence throughout, with classic suits featuring sleek lines and structured tailoring.

Welington bags debuted on the runway with new seasonal iterations including a Doctor Bag, the latest version of the collection to appear in a luxurious alligator with gold hardware.
Jessica Chastain was spotted in a Ralph Lauren Collection beaded jumpsuit and tuxedo jacket, black Wellington bag.

Gigi Hadid opened the runway show with Ralph Lauren Collection, stacked intarsia monogram and a graphic ‘RL’ motif. The ‘RL’ motif was seen repeatedly on garments throughout the collection. Fine tailoring was one of the most striking features of the show.

Vittoria Ceretti closed the show in a Yankees cap and bomber jacket that expressed Ralph Lauren’s childhood in the Bronx. Directly under the skyscrapers of New York, the fashion show ran gracefully with brands close to friends and colleagues.
