The golden carpet of the Oscars 2023 brings us this year’s most sublime and glamorous beauty looks.

The big awards season is here! And as expected, the 95th Annual Academy Awards was the biggest one yet. The event, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, promised a golden carpet, deviating from the traditional red, to be more complementary to everyone’s appearance, star-studded, with expected appearances by Florence Pugh, Janelle Monáe and Rihanna. And, of course, with so many familiar and renowned faces, we could expect a variety of sleek hairstyles, glamorous makeup looks and dazzling manicures.
While we always look forward to floor-sweeping gowns and sparkling jewellery with iconic and dazzling looks, if there was one thing we must highlight it was the unforgettable beauty looks that gave them a super glam touch at the gala. Tiny hair bows, ballet core soft glamour and sleek architectural hairstyles reigned supreme on the champagne carpet. Vanessa Hudgens and Florence Pugh added a small black bow to their hairstyle for feminine appeal. Nominee Michelle Williams paired her soft platinum pixie style with a more-than-brilliant mouth. Also, updos are always a win on the carpet if they are effortlessly perfect, like Ashley Graham and Halle Bailey’s elegant and intricate braided hairstyle or icon Rihanna’s effortless updo. Needless to say, it was a night of beauty we won’t soon forget.
JESSICA CHASTAIN
Jessica Chastain’s Oscar beauty look stayed true to her love of classic glamour. The star’s skin was smooth, flawless and radiant, accented by a bold red lip and wavy lashes to highlight her signature auburn hair.

HALLE BAILEY
Halle Bailey has already proven that there’s no shortage of ingenious ways to style dreadlocks, and she just offered another beautiful example on the Oscars red carpet. The Little Mermaid star kept her makeup simple, allowing her detailed masterpiece of a bun to take centre stage.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS
On Oscar night, nominee Michelle Williams looked to her own beauty catalogue for hair inspiration, bringing back one of her signature hairstyles: the pixie crop. For the face, Michelle joined the vanilla makeup trend, which has been going viral on TikTok recently. As we saw in 2022 with other trends such as the clean girl look and glazed doughnut skin, this year minimalism will continue to be a constant. She also wore dramatic red eyeliner and red lips to brighten her smile.

FLORENCE PUGH
With a gown this vibrant, beauty needs to take a more subtle approach. What we love about this Florence Pugh look is that her “ponytail into bangs” paired perfectly with her Valentino Couture gown. Her glowy makeup was painted on by Alex Babsky using Valentino Beauty products, and her nails were by Dawn Sterling.

ASHLEY GRAHAM
Ashley Graham had a gorgeous Oscars beauty moment with her intricate hairstyle. She had all eyes on her tresses by keeping makeup simple yet sultry with her 90s-inspired matte brown smokey eyes. Celebrity hairstylist Mashal Afzalzada created the look using Living Proof, while her makeup was by celebrity makeup artist Ivan Nunez using Revlon products. She also wore a chrome French manicure. Perfection.

RIHANNA
Rihanna wore the biggest trend of the night: red lipstick. She looked stunning on the “champagne” carpet as she wore a creamy, satin red lipstick (by Fenty Beauty, of course) with red nails and a loose top knot. “We wanted to create a monochromatic makeup look with a maple-red lip and highlight, punctuated by strong black eyeliner, to echo the structure of Rihanna’s gown,” Priscilla Ono, the celebrity makeup artist behind the look said.

LADY GAGA
Lady Gaga looked so amazing on the red carpet, wearing an incredible all-black Versace gown. To complement her look, she also wore a stunning ‘80s-inspired smokey eyes makeup look, using products from her iconic beauty brand Haus Lab. Her hair look done by hairstylist Frederic Aspiras was also stunning.
