Models wore creations for the Dior Menswear Spring-Summer 2024 fashion collection presented in Paris.

Creative director, Kim Jones, unveiled his latest Dior Spring-Summer 2024 Men’s collection. The runway show held in the courtyard of École Militaire in Paris was amazing as models appeared in a chess-like arrangement, emerging from the white floor adorned with a mix of neutral beiges and greys, which created a striking contrast with pops of neon green and vibrant accents. For the current collection, Kim wanted to revisit Dior’s rich history and paying homage to the designers who came before him.
Kim Jones stated, “Dior is an haute couture house: it is all about the clothes. At the heart of Dior is silhouette, shape, technique, and fabrication of the very highest order. I like to think that in my five years of being here, I have never forgotten this. It’s a culture we have inherited from womenswear past and applied to menswear present and for the first time in our collections, it is a collage of influences from different Dior predecessors and eras we wanted to pay tribute to at once,”

Kim Jones envisioned a captivating Dior Summer 2024 line that transcended boundaries, seamlessly blending feminine and masculine influences, salon elegance with street style, and the classic New Look with the avant-garde New Wave. This collection formed a collage of diverse influences and pop iconography, embracing both tradition and subversion.
“Conceived as a multi-faceted tribute to Dior icons via different eras and the house’s artistic directors, the collection draws on the silhouettes created by Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré and Marc Bohan, reinterpreted and transformed. infusing all is a sense of crisp, playful modernity, practicality, and ease. the appearance of archetypal menswear items – such as the Harrington, polo shirt, crew neck and cardigan – is transformed from the ordinary to the extraordinary, through symbolic techniques that traverse time and styles at Dior: tweeds, embroideries, and cabbage.” – From Dior.

The selection of textiles and materials contributed to a diverse array of textures, with notable highlights, including tweed, crystal embroideries, and lightweight fabrics. Jones infused the collection with inherently modern and trendy features. The brand also showcased the latest trend: the neon. It was introduced in vibrant chartreuse, aqua, neon green, and hot pink. Additionally, the ensembles were styled with layered shirting, and the footwear ventured into the realm of streetwear, featuring chunky soles and a focus on practicality.

Accessories also had a standout moment on the runway. The legendary 1955 Lady Dior bag made its presence felt in an innovative manner, as elements of its timeless design were artfully incorporated into slides and loafers. Furthermore, models sported eye-catching knit hats in a variety of vivid colours and captivating textures, ranging from a vibrant electric orange to a soft, understated baby pink.
The Dior Spring-Summer 2024 menswear show also attracted an impressive lineup of celebrities, showcasing the brand’s widespread appeal. Some stars in attendance included J Balvin, Aron Piper, Tom Daley, Jeremy O. Harris, Pharrell, Maluma, Caleb McLaughlin, Felix Mallard, the Hadban brothers, and more.
