Discover Aman Venice, a luxury hotel on the Grand Canal and set in one of eight monumental palazzos in Venice with private gardens.

As sumptuous and romantic as the city itself, Aman’s opulent 16th-century palazzo is set on the Grand Canal in the heart of the Floating City. It is in one of these regal homes directly on the Grand Canal that Aman is housed. Palazzo Papadopoli was built in 1550 but now fuses the romance and history of Venice with the hospitality and service for which Aman is renowned.
Named Palazzo Papadopoli after the Greek family who owned the building in the 19th century, guests can arrive by boat to enter the formal porta d’acqua into a vast, beamed reception with marble chequered flooring and original frescos.
A trompe-l’oeil grand staircase leads up to the piano and rococo ballroom with gilt mirrors, frescos, Murano chandeliers, terrazzo floor and windows overlooking the Canal. Dining rooms, bars and salons have sumptuous Rubelli silk wall coverings, oil paintings and carved stone fireplaces with bowls of exotic white amaryllis as table centrepieces. The wooden altana, overlooking pantiled rooftops, is a small decked roof terrace for sunset drinks.

As regards the rooms, many of the 24 rooms overlook the Grand Canal and are adorned with historical architectural details. There are no bargains here but the least expensive rooms are the palazzo bedrooms, which have views of the hotel’s lush back garden. All rooms are spacious, with enormous bathrooms and luxurious soaking tubs. The most impressive, though missing a canal view, is the Alcova Tiepolo suite, with a separate living room and gorgeous bedroom ceiling frescoes by 18th-century Venetian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.

Dining can be as simple or sumptuous as the occasion demands. In addition to the cosy bar, there are two restaurants on the piano nobile where guests dine under frescoed ceilings. Menus are overseen by Italy’s acclaimed Michelin-starred chef Davide Oldani.

The Blue Dining Room and the Yellow Dining Room are adjacent to the ballroom. They offer views overlooking the canal grande and the Garden Terrace. Each room has several dining tables and ceilings painted by the 18th Century artist Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. These gorgeous rooms offer an intimate dining experience set with truly grand surroundings.
With stunning Grand Canal views, the Garden Terrace is the perfect place for alfresco dining. Breakfast is served each morning in both of the dining rooms. Guests can choose from an extensive menu of savoury and sweet made-to-order breakfast options.

The salon is a regal lounge with lofty ceilings and a relaxation area with a grand piano. The salon is divided into two areas with large windows to give views of the Grand Canal. The historic library offers similar views and is located near the salon.
This hotel features a neo-renaissance style to give this once private home a luxurious feel unique to Venice.
Suppose you are looking for a feeling of calm serenity, head down to the spa. You can receive treatments like oxygen facials and foot treatments to treat tired feet after walking to see the many sights found close to the hotel.
