The Gathering is the heart of the resort, a three-story structure on the high seas and about halfway up the piers that connect the overwater villas. It is an architectural feat as the largest overwater structure in the Maldives and is a three-story building with several restaurants, spa, gym, wine cellar, ice cream and chocolate parlors, observatory and dive center, among other luxuries. One of the lowest density resorts in the world, there are only 51 overwater residences and three islands, the largest and most luxurious villas in the Maldives, each designed for maximum privacy, space and breathtaking ocean views. All rooms at Soneva Jani are intricately designed to give visitors a private yet open feel. The overwater villas at Soneva Jani are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, glass-bottomed water views and beautiful driftwood designs.
