Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are officially husband and wife. Seven months after the end of her conservatorship, they tied the knot at their home in Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles, on June 9 in an intimate ceremony. 60 guests, including well-known celebrities such as Madonna, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Drew Barrymore attended the ceremony.
The bride walked down the aile to Elvis Presley’s version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.
But first, for those who don’t know: who is Sam Asghari? He’s a 28-year-old model, actor and personal trainer. He started modelling because his sister helped him get into the industry.
He then landed his first gig in a 2016 Toyota Prius commercial. This led to appearances in music videos, followed by his current role as Armeen in the BET+ TV series “The Family Business.”
Neither of Spear’s parents, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, nor her sister, Jame Lynn Spears, were in attendance. However, one immediate family member – Spears’ brother, Bryan Spears – did attend the ceremony. In addition, Spears’ teenage sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston, did not join the celebration.
The couple planned the wedding with celebrity event creator Jeffrey Best of Best Events. ‘We really wanted to make this a beautiful little moment with our family and closest friends,’ Britney said. ‘We wanted warm, feminine colours, like melon, white, cream and gold, and lots of shades of pinks, oranges and reds.’
The ceremony, which lasted ten minutes, took place under a tent covered in pink velvet.
The bride looked lovely in an elegant off-the-shoulder Versace gown with a side slit revealing her legs and a classic white veil with satin edging. Sam complemented his bride-to-be’s look with a custom tuxedo, also designed by Versace.
“Designing Britney and Sam’s wedding gowns came naturally to me,” the Italian designer wrote in a photo of the newlyweds on Instagram. “A tremendous amount of love was poured into every detail. Together with our Atelier, we created a dress and tuxedo that exude elegance and glamour. They look perfect together.”
Charlotte and Sofia Tilbury collaborated on creating the bride’s natural beauty look: ‘I was honoured to be asked to create Britney’s beauty look,’ said Charlotte. ‘Britney is an icon of our time who has inspired and empowered us all with her joy and positive energy.’ Tilbury’s niece Sofia was on hand that day to bring the look to life.
The bride’s look was further enhanced with jewellery designed by celebrity jeweller Stephanie Gottlieb. Britney’s pieces weighed 62 carats. Moreover, the couple also commissioned Stephanie to create their wedding bands, with Britney choosing a beautiful stack of two wedding bands to match her engagement ring. Sam chose two platinum wedding bands.
The big surprise was the number of famous faces who didn’t want to miss the wedding. Among the guests were Madonna, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, will.i.am and Donatella Versace, among many others.
After the ceremony, Britney changed into three more looks to start celebrating the party.
She wore a black mini dress, followed by a two-tone ensemble and finally a red mini dress, all by Versace. Citrus Blossom Bakery created the couple’s vanilla strawberry cake and the music was by DJ Albert.
As regards the decoration of the exterior home, it was all in pink. In addition, there were roses to decorate the ceremony, plus a white horse with golden hooves pulling a carriage.
